Early Aggression in a Tournament

Most of us know that the blinds escalate during tournament play. The reason for this is twofold: A) it moves the game along faster and B) high blinds are like a tax on timid players. Seeing as we all know what Benjamin Franklin had to say about death and taxes, timid players rarely survive as they are blinded to death while waiting for the perfect hand to bail them out.
