Aggression is a demonized trait nowadays. People who are highly aggressive are derided as troglodytes, primitive, mean, insensitive, or any other adjective that suggests they are bad people for wanting to succeed. The one word that is not often attached to them, but is accurate so far is the word "winner". When approaching a hand of poker, your strategic default setting should be a bias toward aggression. Position and the cards you are holding will of course be factors in how you play.
