The grassroots poker organization known as the Poker Players Alliance has teamed up with Kentucky's Bluegrass Institute, an association of writers who keep an eye out on state public property, in order to discuss the ramifications if the state goes forward with plans to seize 141 online gambling and poker web site domain addresses. Discussions centered around topics that covered the rights of the state, national and international ramifications, and the future of internet freedoms should it go through. The move by Kentucky governor Steve Beshear to seize the domain names was put on hold by the judge reviewing the case.
